I knew General Patton was a ample battlefield commander. Despite his flaws, he was tranquil the correct man to do the job of smashing the Hitler-Nazi machine. This what the series, Patton 360, brings out. It clearly portrays the genius of a man driven to wreak havoc on the enemy. I never realized, until now, fair how worthy of a struggle it was to pick up abet France, and the obstacles that had to be overcome. I have no doubt that if Patton was given fat sway, the war might well have shortened by almost a year. But consider for yourself. Study or purchase the series. Be Pleased the clever and artful scheme computer graphics have been combined with historical footage to give a complete and curious legend of World War II’s most controversial but successful general - and be pleased how America always seems to reach with a man at the hour of her need or pain.

Im between the two extremes of the previous reviewers. I disagree with the negative reviewer that the series did nothing to document Patton’s tactical skill. On the contrary it did that quite well. Further, it documented the skills of his subordinate commanders which any student of WW2 WOULD be eager in. Also, it paid due respect to the skills of the German commanders. THIS the series did very well. Rommel and Kesselring are of course well noted in the espisodes. But outside of students of the subject, who knows that considerable about Manteuffel? Yet here he is given justified attention. So are the early battles against the Vichy French. Where I agree with the negative reviewer was the repetition of the simulated graphics and stock footage, although some of the footage IS rare. In short, the series could have been reduced in length and been more impactful.

My 3-yr musty son loves this DVD for its catchy songs and attractive footage. He watched it every day for the first couple of weeks, and collected requests it regularly a year later, so the whole family has got most of the songs memorized. I like that the DVD shows some footage from the wet season in Africa, not unbiased the dusty dry season that you usually seek. And they talk about predators and prey in a kid-friendly plot, tantalizing but not scary. We also like the “Hanging with the Primates” demonstrate that comes as a special feature, and the interactive question and animal sounds features. It’s a very polished, captivating DVD that our whole family enjoys.

We originally got this DVD as fraction of a state for our 3 year former son. He absolutely loved all four of the DVDs in the new place National Geographic’s Really Wild Animals Gift Residence, but this one particular DVD got cracked somehow after we’d had it about 6 months. I view, oh well, he has about 50 DVDs, he won’t miss one. About a month passed, and I was definite he’d forgotten it. No so luck. He suddenly started asking almost every day for his “safari with Accelerate.” We tried slipping in various other adventures with Walk, but he kept insisting he wanted the safari. So I bought it again, and peace has been restored in our household.

This particular DVD is one that our animal crazy son has loved for more than a year now. It had enough cute music and splendid animal shots to interest him when we was two, and now that he is closer to four he is collected enjoying it. There are a lot of inspiring animal facts in it, which he is eagerly soaking up. (This is probably his accepted in the series, although he also loves Deep Sea Dive.) As mentioned, he requests it often, and it is educational enough that I don’t mind letting him scrutinize.

THE Story OF BIGFOOT- * A home movie w/ poor voice-overs! Unhappy cess! SLAVE OF THE CANNIBAL GOD- **** Ursula Andress and Stacey Keach lead a rescue team deep into the south american jungles to glean Ms. Andress’ husband. Uh-oh! Those pesky cannibals await! This is the nick version w/ miniature animal deaths and nudity. Alas, Ursula’s noxious scene has been clipped! The movie itself is aloof worth watching though. TNT JACKSON- *** TNT is out to avenge her brother’s death. Her stunt-double will conclude at nothing to attain revenge! Contains the topless karate scene! WOMEN OF DEVIL’S ISLAND- *** Women peek for gold and come by tortured. A “reformer” arrives on the famous isle. However, he has a secret! Attractive decent. Alright, That’s the lot! I highly recommend this collection. Indulge In…

I like the movies but I didn’t like the mill creek entertainment logo that comes up 3 or 4 times on the cover when your watching a movie.I contain all the 50 packs and no other pack has this annoying logo that comes up except this one and Murky CRIMES.IF i had knew this i would have never bought these two.If you don’t mind logo coming up 3 or 4 times on the mask when your watching a movie then seize this.

My Blueberry Nights opens in Fresh York within the comfy confines of a limited café owned by an expatriate Englishman named Jeremy, Jude Law. While busy taking care of his numerous customers, he receives a phone call from a woman asking him if he remembered a man eating meatloaf, later it becomes evident that it was pork chops and not meatloaf, and soon a glorious, but disheveled woman, Elizabeth, played by Norah Jones, makes an appearance at the café and gives Jeremy a dwelling of keys in case her ex-boyfriend comes help. Each night after that occurrence, Elizabeth returns to the café to eye if the keys have been picked up and jabber with Jeremy. The two strike up a speedy friendship and eat the café’s leftovers each night. Some things like cheesecake are completely gone each day, some things like chocolate mousse are mostly gone each day, and there is always an untouched blueberry pie because it is left unwanted. It is this pie that Elizabeth eats every night and after a few weeks, she heads on an impromptu road slouch.

While drinking to soothe his broken heart, Arnie becomes friends with the worthy younger Elizabeth and she learns of his wife Sue Lynne who left him. Things seem moderately stable for Arnie, at least within the haze of alcohol, until, one night, when Sue Lynne comes into the bar with another man. After Tennessee, Elizabeth heads west to the land of gamblers where she meets a blonde, southern female gambler named Leslie, Natalie Portman, who loses everything in a match against a fellow with a grand forehead sporting a repugnant Hawaiian shirt. Again, Elizabeth becomes friends with her fellow drifter and learns things about others and herself in the process.

Meanwhile, Jeremy, who has been receiving postcards without a return address from Elizabeth, relieve at the café, writes numerous postcards to Elizabeth, hoping that one of them will near her, because his heart has opened to her in her absence.

A number of film viewers seemed to be against My Blueberry Nights while it was in the pre-production stage because it was Wong Kar Wai’s first film using all non-Asian actors and actresses, as if the aesthetics and beauty found In the Mood for Like and Chungking Lisp could not be translated over from Asian actors to non-Asian actors. With Taiwanese directors Ang Lee and Hou Hsiao-hsien having done similar endeavors, it stands to reason that Wong would be successful also. While the accents of Natalie Portman and Rachel Weisz are a bit overdone and the script does in fact sound like it is coming from a translation at points, the Wong Kar Wai sense of film radiant composed strongly comes through with his fabulous selection of music, Cat Power’s “The Greatest” plays a prominent role in the film, and its sense of loneliness and the beauty and sadness that can be found in loneliness when one is not only alone in body, but in an exclusive land. Some say that this is Wong Kar Wai’s worst film, but with his worst being better than most, My Blueberry Nights is smooth a grand film for the Wong Kar Wai canon, and should not be scoffed at by his “fans” because it stars non-Asian actors and actresses.

There is mighty in Wong Kar-Wai’s first all English production to adore, but the cast, the dialogue, and the translation of Asian aesthetics unto accent-dimmed performances is so pronounced we have no option but to luxuriate in the movie solely for its artistic merit while lamenting its prosaic shortcomings. The usual antics and brilliance of the director are all deployed to a whimsical effectiveness, if sometimes deliberately indulged. The usual close-ups and askance visual is demonstrate frame after frame, with opaque intrusions, slantwise peering, obstructed lavishness, and aided by the diner/pub setting the movie is infused with neon latency. In fact the area is simple and very bleak. Action hardly ever takes site during the day, set for the occasional interlude which seems to be a method to effect as pronounced the comparative glare that the night offers. At times we have the camera stride its intensity along a bar or a table, stolidly stuck on a fork pricking through a cut of pie, or meandering about the outskirts of a bar, column after column, shadows crawling senselessly through a disorderly tension that seems innocent enough to screen unhurried the crevices of our visual. Overall the very Asian lovely quality of the camerawork tellingly foreshadows a candor that has us become voyeurs more so than spectators. In Asian culture it is best not to invade one’s private station and here it is carried out to such beauty that it offers a sense of indiscreet respect.

Where the movie falters however is in its casting, of which some are ample artists customary in a middling discouraged fashion. Jude Law and Natalie Portman are sensational actors but oddly cast in the drama. Their intensity is new but too forceful for the tale introspective layover. The fair Norah Jones is very mediocre. She has promise but the flick rests too mighty on her inner turmoil to be successful since she cannot be the keystone of the sage in a map to match the intensity and bravado of her colleagues. The fable is very simple. Elizabeth is stuck on her boyfriend whose impartial broken-up with her. She will have to labor through her incredulousness and inability to let go. The diner’s owner, played by Jude Law offers her a shoulder and an ear while terribly straining the poetic attitude of the atmosphere by introducing a dialogue that metaphor driven closes the doors it chances to begin. In fact while observing the action from slack window panes or timidly joining the session while tip-toeing about a door left ajar we behold a tenuous delicacy of touch that is as fragile as Norah Jones’ performance.

David Strathairn, cast as Arnie, the alcoholic policeman who cannot let go of his wife, strikes a rapport of morbid proportions with Lizzie. While on a lovelorn escapade to Memphis, Lizzie nurses her loss and begins to recover, but in the process as she learns to give up, somehow that same sense of absence transfers to Arnie who is separated from a wife who wants nothing to do with him. The perfection of his character watch and depth only highlights the misses of the others, including Arnie’s estranged wife Sue Lynne (Rachel Weisz) . Arnie gives up on a night of madness and overglowing enrage but determines to commit suicide. Enters Natalie Portman, a southern vixen with a penchant for gambling.

The neon-hued camerawork receives added sheen from a wander to Vegas on a trace unusual Jaguar, only to collect out that the every accumulate is also a loss. Ultimately that is the upshot of the record which is brightly demented by the braggadocio devil-may care sensibility of Leslie (Natalie Portman) . The death of Leslie’s father causes a reunion between Lizzie and the diner’s proprietor Jeremy, who functions as the jar of sweets everyone is distinct with due time Lizzie will accept her procedure to. Time spent through ravishing hues that distil an aura of hopeless references and tame performances that jarr all the more because uninspired while beset by the contrasting tenderness of the visual.

A movie worth watching, because of the addictive intensity provided by the camerawork of Darius Khondji, but the elegiac tone of a “Chungking Train” or “In the Mood for Appreciate” is affected by the sobering vapidity of a location that plays with the conception of loss and procure by using a maudlin dialogue and a cloyed, exhausted attempt at allegorizing by device of sappy, overburdened poetics.

These were all produced by Hanna-Barbera.

As a kid, I devoured all the Saturday Morning TV in the ’70s I could win. Now as an adult, I’m amazed by the fact that a 70’s Cartoon collection like this even exists so let’s begin off with the certain.

This is a stout sample of pop culture history. Remember, no home video market in the ’70’s so the best chance to glimpse the unique comedy or adventure sharp fare were only on Saturdays. It was an weekly event for kids and a boon for animation houses like Hanna-Barbera and Filmation to name a few. I was very happy to study some long forgotten favorites such as Filmation’s Tarzan and HB’s Wheelie and the Chopper Bunch (an early precursor to Pixar’s ‘Cars’) . Run Buggy is another fun point to represented I can’t hold isn’t on its maintain series DVD spot yet. Of course other classics are represented here as well like The JETSONS and SCOOBY-DOO although the episodes here have already been released on other series DVD sets.

Which leads to where I believe this site falls short. Too many episodes here that are already on other Hanna-Barbera series DVD sets. There is already a Scooby-Doo Movies location featuring every episode guest-staring the Harlem Globetrotters. Why not feature an episode from that series not currently on that plot? There are plenty of them smooth missing to buy from. And by the method, the opening for the Scooby-Doo Movies has been edited. The scene of the robot cowboy gunfire or other “violent” acts have been removed. I really disfavor the PC-ification of animation history. Questioning other episode selection choices, why hasten a Josie & the Pussycats episode already on their DVD space when a better choice would have been Josie & the Pussycats in Outer Spot, which isn’t out there yet?

And boy the mix of series selected here really don’t do the Hanna-Barbera legacy any favors. When you can recognize all the shows here in a row you really approach to realize how sloppy and indolent the studio became as the years went by. Most of the series here became cookie-cutter clones of the Scooby-Doo model. Even admitted to by some of the creators featured in the Docs on this site. Teen-age kids and their talking pet (or car, or whatever) solving mysteries. When you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all and the animation gets worse and worse as time goes by. Shows like The Funky Phantom and Goober & the Ghost Chasers are poor in every procedure. These are the bottom of the HB barrel in character compose, narrative and animation and it’s no wonder why these shows don’t have their acquire dvd sets. As an animation history buff, it’s almost disheartening to survey upright before your eyes how hastily HB declines from its hey-day of Yogi Contain, The Flintstones, The Jetsons even the earliest Scooby-Doo shows into some of the most forgettable ’70s cartoon series ever.

And the worst display on this position? Hands, down, The Roman Holidays. A cheap (and I mean cheaply produced!) attempt to clone the Flintstones model. Terrible in every conceivable procedure.

Buyers should also know some of the quality of various shows on this disk are not as sizable as one would reach to inquire. A fact that is properly called out on the disks before you even acquire to the main menu. Obviously some of the unusual footage from the animation vaults was in rough shape. Tarzan and The Funky Phantom are prime examples. Which is disappointing because of all of the shows here deserving of its occupy DVD collection, it’s Tarzan. For Filmation, one of its finest examples from its library. For those of you at the WB reading these reviews on these sets, I would smooth select a crude quality DVD plot of the Tarzan series any day over most of the other shows represented here.

At best, this disk a trippy reflection of a transitional time in animation history. Especially for the Hanna-Barbera studio. An sharp experiment for Warner Bros. I hope they try again. Only this time, here’s hoping they reflect longer and harder about what will go into a volume two for this series.

‘3:10 To Yuma’ is a stark monochrome Western that has been praised for its suspense and high legal tone. Van Heflin, in a darker variant on his role in ‘Shane’, plays a character who picks up where most Westerns leave off. The genre is usually concerned with taming wild loners or men with pasts. rewarding them with the joys of civilisation. Heflin has seen what civilisation really means. He lives on a drought-dry farm with a wife and two children he often fails to feed. The grind of fruitless labour has veteran them all down, and Heflin’s identity as a man, having been once the greatest shot in these parts, is now undermined by humiliation in front of his family by outlaws stealing his cattle and horses, or forced to beg money from indifferent acquaintances. His wife can’t understand that his inability to ‘be’ a ‘man’ is the result of the civilisation she represents.

What’s a unpleasant fair farmer to do when he sees murderers and thieves throwing money around, drinking their hold, bedding graceful strangers, and generally living the whooping-it-up life? Glenn Ford is the not-completely-irredeemable leader of a gang of devoted sadists so feared throughout the residence that no lawman dares touch him. Such men are usually let down by their sexual desire, and when he leaves his gang to schmooze a barmaid, he is captured by the locals. Shiny that they will be no match for the manpower or ruthlessness of the gang when they return to rescue Ford, the sheriff plans a decoy, which will need two foolishly gallant men to recall the bandit to the notify residence at Contention City. The initally reluctant Heflin accepts the job when a farm-saving reward of $200 is offered.

In many ways, ‘Yuma’ works against the conventions of the Western as it seeks, like the hero to avoid action and the inevitable climactic shoot-out for as long as possible. The film’s centre-piece is a lengthy, stagy sequence in a hotel room in which Heflin holds Ford prisoner - potential ponderousness is offset by the terrific acting of the two aging actors, one goading and testing the other, tempting with zigzag offers that are all too tempting; the other struggling manfully to resist. At first, Heflin’s taking the job is strictly economical - he needs the money. Then it becomes ethical, a stand against socially disruptive forces threatening the community. It is also a test of the masculinity that has long been buried by family duties. Finally, it is an existential struggle, with Ford as the man Heflin could easily become (and perhaps once was? ), and his men as the instruments of inexorable Fate the farmer must face and outwit on his contain, stripped of help, impartial as Man must eventually face Death.

The film’s mise-en-scene is suitably austere, the black-and-white cinematography emphasising titillating contrasts, the alienating outlines of buildings and landscapes, and the vulnerable men and women who chase through them - sometimes watching ‘Yuma’ is like leafing slowly through an album of stark 19th century photographs taken of the West. The ‘city’ in which the film is mostly played out initially seems like a ghost town, and a surreal funeral sequence interrupting, or accentuating, the tension, gives a quality of dream. Delmer Daves’ direction is not self-effacing - every shot is meticulously, often heavily calm, character patterns structured in frames creating a sense of constriction and claustrophobia that serves to turn the plot’s screws. What saves the film from being impartial another superfical ‘High Noon’ ‘allegory’ is the sudden bursts of violence rupturing the tense silence, and the ultimate refusal to wholeheartedly embrace doom-and-gloom existentialism.

When speaking of the tall Westerns such as SHANE, THE SEARCHERS and HIGH NOON, 3:10 TO YUMA should definitely be mentioned. All of these films came out in the 50’s, but 3:10 has somehow been forgotten.

Van Heflin plays a farmer suffering from a drought. He is a tranquil, seemingly passive man who becomes a reluctant hero. Heflin agrees to enjoy criminal Glenn Ford in a hotel room for $200 impartial long enough for the suppose to Yuma to leave at 3:10. Ford’s gang, however, learns about the area and plans to bewitch action. The characters and performances by Ford and Heflin design the film work. Heflin is outwardly reluctant to assume this job, but his strength lies within. The struggle within him is evident: Here’s a family man who can assign his farm or do what he knows is true. Ford, the criminal, is alluring, almost charming. He’s a con artist and a cold-blooded killer, but you can’t support liking him unprejudiced a miniature. Obvious, he’s a criminal, but not your typical stereotyped Western poor guy. The suspense and tension waiting for the mumble rival that of HIGH NOON (impartial without the clock!) . Even if you don’t like Westerns, you’ll like 3:10 TO YUMA.

The material covered in this video is not something that lends itself to simple explanation. Whether you are fan of the man or not, these drawings which draw from numerous traditions are fascinating to decode. As 2012 draws near it will be interesting to reflect back on the interpretations provided here. I would also like to see more written on the Astrological insights provided. Check out the website for an animated tour of the book itself and a cool logic game.

I watched this last night on the History channel and was amazed how all of these IE. bible, Mayan culture and philosophers all have described the end of days using the same symbols without some ever having contact or knowledge of each other. Also amazing how Astronomy plays such a vital role and how they could see and predict what would occur in the year 2012. Today’s experts are trying to catch up to the genius of the ancient world.
